This morning as I was praying, I spent some time being still before the Lord. I closed my eyes and listened and heard the birds singing, the toads croaking, the loons calling to one another, and the wind sweeping across the lake. In that moment, the Lord reminded me of the time when my mother sang what is known as “The Blessing’ in front of the Piper Cancer Building at Abbott Northwestern Hospital prior to receiving her last cancer treatment. She sang so beautifully that the whole parking lot stopped to listen to His word sung over them. It was the last time she sang. I thanked the Lord for reminding me of this memory as well as His word.

‘The Blessing’ comes from Numbers 6:24-26 which says, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.”
After praying, I opened up my daily devotional and as the Lord would have it, the verse for the day was Numbers 6:24-26. Isn’t God good?
These verses tell us that He is the One who blesses and keeps us, who makes His face to shine upon us, who is gracious. He is the One who lifts up His countenance upon us giving us peace. Wow!!! Such precious truths to set your mind on.
These verses tell us who we are in Him. We are blessed, kept, and shined upon. We are recipients of His grace, joy, and peace. Thank you, Lord!!!!

Blessings to you,
