A – Adopted

In love, He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons (and daughters) through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will. (Ephesians 1:5)

Five years ago, a baby boy was born to a mama who was unable to care for him and she sought out help, by God’s grace. A family across the street who are our dear friends were the ones chosen to care for this little one. Two years later, this same mama had another baby; a girl and she also was placed into the same family as her older brother. Eventually, these two were adopted becoming our friend’s forever children.

This family is a light house in our neighborhood consistently living out Matthew 5:14-16 which says, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” With the adoption of these two precious children, the whole neighborhood is drawn to this family; thus drawn into the presence of the Lord. It has been an amazing thing to witness.

Adoption of children here on earth is a beautiful picture of the verse written at the beginning of this post. These two children were chosen for adoption and placed in the home of our friends. It is the same for you if you are in Christ. You have been chosen for adoption as sons and daughters into Jesus’ family becoming His forever children. Nothing can snatch you out of His hand. Hallelujah!

I love adoption. It is a beautiful picture of what Christ has done for each one of us who have placed our faith in Him.

No longer orphans. We belong as sons and daughters of the King!

Blessings to you,

Heather
