You can read the entire account of Moses in the book of Exodus. As you do, look for Jesus. He is there in so many obvious yet unexpected ways.
Two of my favorite ways are:
- The Passover
- 400 years have passed and the Israelites are slaves in Egypt under a very wicked Pharaoh. God, in His mercy, hears their cries for deliverance and sends Moses. Through nine plagues, God displays His power and might, giving the Pharaoh opportunity to let His people go, but each time refusing. At the onset of the tenth plague, God instructs the people to paint the blood of the lamb; the Passover Lamb, over their doorways thus keeping the angel of death from killing the first born son in that home. In other words, the angel of death would pass over that home, keeping the first born son alive. If homes did not have the blood of the lamb painted over their doorways, however, the first born son would die. This clearly points to Jesus. Those of us who believe have the blood of the lamb painted over our hearts and thus are spared from eternal separation from God and judgement. Those who don’t are not spared. This lamb of God is Jesus.
- John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

- How the Israelites Camped in the Wilderness
- After the Israelites were delivered from the hand of the Egyptians, they camped in the wilderness. When other people groups would gaze upon this formidable group; God’s chosen people, they would see them camped in the shape of the cross. Isn’t that amazing? This is another clear pointer to Christ.
- Luke 24:27 “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, Jesus interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Where do we see Christ in the person of Moses? I would argue that the primary way we see Christ in the account of Moses is that God used Moses to deliver His people by bringing them safely out of Egypt. This ultimately points to Christ who is our true Deliverer.
- Who is God in the person of Christ?
- He is our Deliverer.
- Galatians 1:4 “Jesus gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.”
- He is our Deliverer.
- Who are we in Him?
- We are Delivered from the power of sin and death.
- Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
- We are Delivered from the power of sin and death.
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Savior
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan’s power
When we were gone astray
When You Pray..
Pray For:
- Yourself
- Your Spouse
- Your Children/Grandchildren
- Your Pastors and their Families
Praise the Lord for delivering you and those you know that believe from Satan’s power. Pray for those that don’t believe that today would be the day when the Lord sees fit to deliver them.
Blessings to you,
Heather
