There have been many instances where I can look back and see how the Lord provided for me in unexpected ways. Here is story of one such way:

My dad passed away on October 31 and on Monday, November 2, my sister and I went to our home town, the town of Waconia, where we grew up and we met with the funeral director and put all the details together for his funeral. Afterwards, we went and visited some of our dearest friends from growing up; our neighbors across the street; the Petersons. Then we went out for lunch at the cutest little coffee shop called the Mocha Monkey. This place was a favorite of our mom and dad’s. We ordered our food and went to pay and their computer crashed. We did not have any cash and were unable to pay for our food. As we were trying to figure out what to do, a gentleman came in and observed what was going on and paid for our lunch. We don’t know who he was, but he made our day. He was a pointer to both of us that the Lord was with us, providing for us, and that He was going before us, and was going to take care of us. Neither of us will ever forget it.
Where have you seen the Lord providing for you? Where do you see Him providing for you now? May you look for Him this Christmas season and see Him not only as your Creator, Savior, Salvation, Promise, and Ransom, but as your Provider as well.

Read the account of Joseph in Genesis 37-50 and look for ways that his life is a foreshadowing of the Messiah, the One who was, is, and is to come. There are pointers all over the place.
At the end of the account, Joseph said this to his brothers in Genesis 50:20-21 “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
In the account of creation, we see Jesus as the Creator and in Him, we are a New Creation.
In the account of Adam and Eve, we see Jesus as the Sinless Savior and in Him, we are Saved Sinners.
In the account of Noah, we see Jesus as the Way of Salvation and in Him, we are Saved from the Wrath to Come.
In the account of Abraham, we see Jesus as the Fulfillment of Promise and in Him, we are the Blessed Heirs of Promise.
In the account of Isaac, we see Jesus as the Ransom; Lamb of God and in Him, we are Ransomed.
In the account of Jacob, we see Jesus as the bridge between God and man and in Him, we have full access to the Father through Christ.
In the account of Joseph, we see Jesus as the Provider and in Him, we are Cared For.
