How to Put Together a Prayer Pack
Pocket 9: Fridays – Friends
On Fridays, I encourage you to pray for your friends. We have a wonderful opportunity to encourage the friends the Lord has given us through prayer. I love praying for my friends from all walks of life and have them separated by the 4-5 Saturdays in a month.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Who is God? He is Faithful to keep His Promises.
As you pray, let your friends know that you are praying for them. When friends do that for me, it is so encouraging. Ask your friends for any prayer requests that they have. Encourage them that the Lord is Faithful to all of His promises. II Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God find their ‘yes’ in Christ Jesus.” Along with making note of who God is and who you are in Him, I encourage you to put to paper His promises as you come to them in His word.
Who are you in Him? You are Filled with Unwavering Hope.
Since God is faithful to all of His promises, then we have every reason to hope in Christ without wavering. We can, in turn, encourage our friends as we pray for them to hold fast to this hope in Christ without wavering as well.
Here are the songs “Yes and Amen” by Chris Tomlin and “Christ Our Hope” by the Gettys.
Blessings to you as you pray for your friends today.
