He is Worthy of Our Prayers and you, in Him, are Bowed Down

How to Put Together a Prayer Pack

Pocket 8: Thursdays – Your Spouse’s Extended Family: Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & their Families

On Thursdays, I encourage you to pray for your spouse’s extended family. Pray for his/her grandparents, aunt & uncles, cousins & their families.  My husband has a large extended family like me, so I split up his family and pray for them over the 4/5 Thursdays each month. There are many family members on Paul’s side that we do not see often, so this has helped me just to be mindful of them and pray for them.  Sometimes I text them and sometimes I don’t.  I pray the same verses over Paul’s family as I do my own.

Ephesians 3:14-19

For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Here are the same attributes from yesterday.

Who is God here in this passage? He is God the Father, He is God the Son, He is God the Holy Spirit. He is worthy of our prayers. He knows your name. He is rich in glory. He grants us strength to believe in the love of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. He is incomprehensible.

Who are you in Him? You are bowed down. You are known. You are His. You are the recipients of the richness of His glory. You are strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit. You are the place where Christ dwells. You are rooted and grounded in love.

Yesterday we focused on the fact that He is the Trinity; three in one and that we, in Him are His Children.  Today I want to focus on the fact He is worthy of our prayers and that we are bowed before Him praying unceasingly.

I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Here is the song “Let Us Pray” by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Blessings to you as you pray for your spouse’s extended family today.
