He is the Vine and you, in Him, are the Branches; the Body of Christ

How to Put Together a Prayer Pack

Pocket 6: Tuesdays – Church Leadership & Church Ministry

On Tuesdays, I encourage you to pray your local church. It is such a privilege to lift up the leaders and ministries of our churches in prayer week in and week out.  John 15:5 says, “I (Jesus)am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” May our church leaders abide in Christ and bear fruit as they faithfully lead us week in and week out and may we, in turn, do the same.  Praying scripture is a wonderful way to pray.  I have listed those below each area.

1st Tuesday of month – Pastors, Elders, & Their Families

Titus 1:5-9

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

I Timothy 3:1-7

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil.  Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.

2nd Tuesday – Deacons/Ministers/Leaders and Their Families

I Timothy 3:8-13

Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

3rd Tuesday – Ministries Where You Serve

Ephesians 4:11-13

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

I Corinthians 12:27

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

4th Tuesday – Missionaries & Other Outreach Ministries That You Support

Matthew. 9:38

Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

Here is the song, “Remain in Me.”

Blessings to you as you pray for your church today.
