Years ago I took a group of ladies through a wonderful Bible study series called Clarifying of the Bible by Mitch Maher. He breaks down the Bible into five Christ centered sections:
1. Anticipation – Genesis-Malachi say, “Jesus is coming!!!”
2. Manifestation – Matthew-John say, “Jesus is here!!!”
3. Proclamation – Acts says, “Let’s proclaim Jesus to the ends of the earth!!!”
4. Explanation – Romans – Jude say, “Let’s explain who Jesus is and who we are in Him!!!”
5. Consummation – Revelation says, “Jesus is coming back! Be ready!”
Isn’t this good? Here is the link to the study if you would like to go through it.
With that, let’s turn to who God is and who we are in Him.
Who is God? He is the VICTORIOUS Savior!
The Old Testament anticipates this VICTORIOUS Savior from the very beginning. After Adam and Eve sinned God promised that one day He would send a Savior into the world to save them from their sins. Genesis 3:15 says, “I will put enmity between you (snake) and the woman, and between your offspring (Satan) and her Offspring (Jesus); He (Jesus) shall bruise your (Satan) head, and you (Satan) shall bruise His (Jesus) heel.” He will be a wounded victor.
The gospels make manifest that the VICTORIOUS Savior has come. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Philippians 2:5-8 says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross.”
The book of Acts begins to proclaim the VICTORIOUS Savior to the world. We are still doing this today. This is our mission in Christ to proclaim Him to the world. This virus situation has given us a wonderful opportunity to do this.
The epistles from Romans to Jude explain who this VICTORIOUS Savior was, who He is, and who He is to come. They are worthy of our study because they explain to us how we are to live and who we are in Him.
The book of Revelation is the consummation of history. The VICTORIOUS Savior is coming back. We must be ready!!!
Who are you in Him? You are More than Conquerers.
Romans 8:31-39
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us all, how will He not also with hHm graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERERS through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
May you rejoice in your VICTORIOUS Savior Jesus Christ!
Blessings to you.
