By God’s grace, we have our son-in-law, daughter, and grandsons here with us at our cabin on the Stay At Home directive. It’s been such a blessing. Lucas Isaiah is two and Caleb Emmanuel is 3 1/2 weeks old. Lucas is at that stage of asking why, wondering about everything, and TRUSTING everything we say. It is such precious stage. The other night we were out on a walk and the moon was full and beautiful. I asked Lucas if he knew who made that moon. He answered without wavering, “Jesus did.” Then I asked him who made the clouds, and who made his mommy and daddy, who made me, and who made papa, and who made him. With each question he answered, “Jesus did.” He knows, he is very smart. Children are very smart. They TRUST without questioning. hey trust without wavering. Jesus knew this and said that we ought to be like children and TRUST Him without questioning or without wavering. Why should we? Because He said so. He is more than worthy of our TRUST.
John 1: 1-5, 14
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and TRUTH.”
This Word is God in the flesh, the Savior of the world, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, God with us, the Light of the world. He is Jesus, full of grace and TRUTH. With that let’s turn to who He is and who you are in Him.
Who is God? He is Trustworthy.
Who are you in Him? You are safe, heard, loved, fearless, and blessed.
Let’s look to His word to show us these truths.
Psalm 62:8
“TRUST in Him at all times, oh people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.”
Psalm 20:7
“Some TRUST in chariots and some in horses, but we TRUST in the name of the LORD our God.”
Isaiah 26:4
“TRUST in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”
Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my TRUST in You.”
Psalm 32:10
“Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who TRUSTS in the LORD.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
“TRUST in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
Psalm 112:7
“He is not afraid of bad news; His heart is firm, TRUSTING in the LORD.”
Psalm 118:8
“It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to TRUST in man.”
Proverbs 29:25
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever TRUSTS in the LORD is safe.”
Psalm 37:5
“Commit your way to the LORD; TRUST in Him, and He will act.”
Jeremiah 17:7
“Blessed is the man who TRUSTS in the LORD.”
Rev. 21:5
And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE.”
May we all be like my little grandson, Lucas Isaiah, and TRUST the Lord without wavering. He knows what He is doing. He is TRUSTWORTHY!!! Let’s not question Him, let’s come to Him like a little child and TRUST.
I will post the song by Steven Curtis Chapman called “God is it True (Trust Me).”
Blessings to you.
When You Pray…
May you “hold firmly to the TRUSTWORTHY word as taught, so that you may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” Titus 1:9
Pray that the Lord will give you greater measure of faith to TRUST him unwaveringly.
Pray for you spouse and children.
It is Thursday, so pray for you spouse’s extended family…grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins.
