“In the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground. When the sons of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.” Exodus 16:13-15
This bread was PROVIDED by the Lord and it was called manna. Each family was to gather their day’s worth; their daily bread. If they saved any from the previous day, it ruined what they were given for that day. This PROVISION of daily bread was a pointer to Jesus and who He is. Jesus says in the book of John, “I am the living bread, the bread of life, that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
For the Israelites, manna was the physical PROVISION from the Lord that met the physical need of food. For us today, Jesus is the spiritual PROVISION from the Lord that meets our spiritual need of a Savior. With that, let’s turn our attention to who God is and who you are in Him.
Who is God? He is the Provider!
Who are you in Him? You are Cared for and you are Saved.
God PROVIDES for our physical needs. His word says that, “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.” But more importantly, God PROVIDES for us spiritually. How? By giving us His Son. “For God so loved that world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Look at how the following verses show us who He is and who you are in Him.
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
“You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, for so You have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with your bounty;
Your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy. Psalm 65:9-13
“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?” Matthew 6:26
“For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.” Psalm 107:9
The Lord has gotten the attention of the whole world through this Coronavirus. It truly is the PROVISION of a severe mercy. May you look to Him, your PROVIDER and thank Him not only for the physical things that He provides you with everyday but more importantly thank Him for saving you. He has PROVIDED you with salvation. For those of you who are unbelievers or who are waffling, He has PROVIDED a way for you to be with Him through believing in His Son, Jesus, for your salvation. Don’t delay! Today is the day!!!
